What is Botox?

Botox is an injectable medication administered by a medical specialist for pain management. It is derived from Botulinum toxin, which prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine which causes flaccid paralysis.

Is Botox for Me?

Botox is for patients who have focal dystonia or chronic myofascial syndromes. Common symptoms in which Botox can help include:

  • Tension Headache
  • Cervical dystonia
  • Whiplash
  • Muscle spasms
  • Focal spasticity

Program Criteria

To qualify for Medical Botox, you must complete conservative treatment and exercise first.

Program Cost

The patient cost ranges from $400-$1200 per visit.

3. How long is the wait time for specialist consultation?

Wait times range depending on level of medical urgency. After completing the required form, you should have a confirmation date within 2 weeks. If you do not, please email Caleohealth@albertaPT.com. Depending on urgency, your scheduled appointment can be 1 to 6 months.
